Yes, absolutely! The code is pretty well separated already and I know Alex is dying to build the code sans graphics and sound for Linux. However, until the MP is more playable I think we will concentrate everything on that.

The ambient and static lighting (the lightbeams) are baked, but the dynamic light sources are calculated and raycast every frame. The blurring is also done every frame. Because of the low resolution of the light field, it is not really very demanding atm.

Yes, we are indeed planning to put those back in. For the (current) lack of them I actually had to add the "slow" augmentation to the iron engine, in order to have a suitable speed drive, but it should of course be handled properly with gears.

Nice posting the video:-) Might be that you found a bug - kinda looks like you're missing the final belt block, which must be dragged onto the hub of the wheel from above (this is maybe a little hard to see).
